FOLDING PLATE CAMERA | 1923: A wood bodied, wood baseboard camera, covered in leatherette. Produced from 1923 in 1/4 plate size only, it is very similar to the Imperial Pocket No.0, but has an optical viewfinder on the left side. It appears to have lost a waist level finder. With more than a thousand variations of the Imperial Pocket Camera available from 1921 onwards, one wonders why they bothered to produce this Filmak, which itself had a selection of lens/shutter combinations available; this one has a Salex f6.8 Anastigmat in an Ilex shutter. The Salex lens possibly indicates a wholesaler/retailer relationship between T-P and City Sale and Exchange at the time.
