Moorse, H | New Folding Camera | Tailboard | Whole Plate

NEW FOLDING CAMERA. 1877. Camera labelled H. Moorse, 154 High Holborn, London WC. Moorse made many different models during his working lifetime, having been established as a Photographic Apparatus Maker in 1867. I think from all available sources, that this is his New Folding Camera of 1877, a tailboard design with no side wings. The Dallmeyer lens is engraved with 'J H Dallmeyer, London, No.33352, 3D Patent', and according to internet sources it dates to 1882. The camera needs some restoration, and takes dedicated dark slides which are damaged.
