Butcher & Sons, William. | Coronet No. 2 | English | Quarter Plate

FIELD CAMERA. 1913. A mahogany and brass, no-frills field camera in quarter plate size. Not connected with the Coronet Camera Co. of Birmingham. Mentioned in McKeown as a Butcher product, but not mentioned in Channing and Dunn. Originally sold fitted with either a Primus RR, a Beck Symmetrical or an Aldis Uno lens, but came to me without any lens at all. It appears to be the Number 2 model, as the mount for the RR-type lens was still present. The Number 1 model had a different achromat-in-simple-shutter arrangement.
