Meagher, Patrick | Nameless | Tailboard | Whole Plate

TAILBOARD STEREO FIELD CAMERA. c1870. A very early, rare and collectable camera, this was another badly damaged piece when it came to me after some idiot had apparently used it as a dart board and put some fifteen screws through the front panel. The lens panel was absent and it was not immediately clear whether it was a stereo or mono camera, but indents for a septum at back and front revealed it to be a stereo model. It is now as well restored as it is ever likely to be.
