ENGLISH FIELD CAMERA. 1897. In production from 1890 to 1907. This 'Ruby' is from the middle of the production run, 1897, when the neck strap buttons on its side were introduced, whilst some other introductions from 1898 are not present, so 1897 it has to be. This one is fitted with an updated shutter, the 'Royal', offered as an optional extra from 1906 to 1919. In 1906, production of the 'Ruby' ceased and cheaper versions the 'Amber' and the 'Special Ruby' were offered instead. So, as I keep telling everyone, there will never be any more; the supply stopped in 1907. And I've got mine.
